Leader in Nepal's ruling coalition shot

A leader of Nepal's Samajbadi Party was shot at by unidentified gunmen in the country's Kapilvastu district on Thursday, according to a media report.
Forty-year-old Ram Narayan Yadav, who sustained injuries on his shoulder, was taken to a local hospital for treatment, the MyRepublica news portal reported.
Yadav, who is a leader in Nepal's ruling coalition, was on his motorcycle going to Taulihawa from Lumbini when he was attacked by a gang of six men at Titirihaya under Suddhodan rural municipality area, the report said.
Yadav is a member of the Samajbadi Party's district working committee.
No one has taken responsibility for the attack and the reason behind the shooting is not yet known, it said.
The Samajbadi Party has condemned the incident and urged the local administration to act against the culprits.
