'LG will register FIR against Sisodia over fictitious ad scam'

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Turning up the heat against the LG, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today claimed Lt Governor Najeeb Jung "will" register an FIR against his deputy Manish Sisodia over some "fictitious" advertisement scam.

"Sources- LG getting FIR registered in ACB against Manish Sisodia on some fictitious ad scam. We welcome LG to do that," Kejriwal said in a tweet.

Interestingly, Sisodia himself referred to a similar possibility during his intervention in the ongoing session of the Delhi Assembly. He also welcomed a CAG audit of the ads released by the AAP government.

In a series of tweets, Kejriwal added ACB will also summon Transport Minister Gopal Rai and went on to ask him to present himself before the concerned authority before summons are issued.

"Sources - ACB will summon Gopal Rai. Gopal Rai ji, pl visit ACB urself on Mon rather than wait ACB summons. LG/ Modiji, we are strong people who tread on the path of truth. We are not scared of your cowardly threats," he tweeted.

The Delhi Assembly had yesterday formed a nine-member special inquiry committee to probe alleged irregularities in "restoring" the license of a fair price shop in Santnagar of North Delhi's Burari, including "serious" charges against Jung in connection with it.

Sisodia said in the letter CAG has asked about the expenses of Delhi government on advertisments in print and electronic media.

The Deputy CM, who also holds finance portfolio, said CAG has posed some questions to the government as to why it gave Hindi advertisments in English newspapers.

Sisodia said he was disappointed to know that the CAG was only auditing advertisement expenses of the Delhi government alone and added it is being portrayed as if it was the only government which was placing advertisements in media platforms outside the state.

The governments of Telangana, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu among others carried massive publicity campaign across all states in India, he added.
