Liquour tragedy: Magisterial inquiry to record submission till

A magisterial inquiry into the liquour tragedy in Etah and Farrukhabad early this month which claimed 39 lives will accept public submission till August 5.

District Magistrate Ajay Yadav had ordered a magisterial inquiry in to the incident and deputed Additional District Magistrate Satish Pal.

In a press release issued yesterday, the ADM said those willing to submit evidence can do so in his office till August 5.

Thirty-nine people had died earlier this month after consuming spurious liquor in Uttar Pradesh. Thirty-three deaths were reported in Etah district and six in Farrukhabad.

The National Human Rights Commission had issued notices to the Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary and the DGP in this regard and sought reports within four weeks.
