DY Gaud, Secretary, District legal Services Authority told PTI that the amount settled in the Lok Adalat was Rs 11.49 crore, adding that a total of 74 panels, comprising sitting judges and senior advocates, were set up to hear the litigants.
He said that these panels dealt with a total of 27,361 pre-litigation and pending cases of which 1,511 pre-litigation cases and 1,139 pending cases were amicably resolved.
The settlement amount in the pre-litigation cases stood at Rs 1.99 crore while the amount in the pending cases was Rs 9.5 crore, Gaud said.
"A total of 301 bank recovery pre-litigation cases were disposed off involving an amount of Rs. 1.46 crore. Among the pending cases, 95 cases of the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal were solved with the settlement amount being Rs 5.33 crore," Gaud said.
He informed that a total of 515 cases of criminal compounding were settled involving an amount of Rs. 2.15 crore.
A record number 74 matrimonial disputes and a total of 28 labour disputes were also settled in the Adalat, officials said.
