LPG connection to BPL families to be done before time: Das

Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said distribution of LPG connection to the BPL families of the state would be completed before time.

The goal for 2018 is to provide LPG connections to 15 to 16 lakh people, an official release said quoting Das.

Ovens would also be given to the beneficiaries, he said after inaugurating the 'LPG Catalyst of Social Change Conference' held here.

Addressing the gathering, Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan said Jharkhand is the first state in the country where stove and first refill are given free with LPG connection.

He said, though Jharkhand is a a backward state, the poor families associated with the Ujjwala scheme are making an average of three refills annually and this is a huge success.

To provide clean fuel in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad and Bokaro, LPG will be made available through pipelines soon, he said.
