LPG leaking from tanker after accident on NH-6

A tanker full of LPG started leaking gas tonight after it was hit by a truck on NH-6 in Bagnan area of Howrah district spreading panic among the people, the police said.

The incident occurred at Tenpur under Bagnan police station area when the truck rammed into the tanker full of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from behind.

The administration has stopped movement of traffic along both flanks of the national highway as a large number of anxious people have come out of their houses.

Personnel of the police and fire brigade and senior district officials have reached the spot.
