Mahashivratri was celebrated today with fervour and gaiety in Himachal Pradesh with people, thronging the temples since early morning despite biting cold.
Known as 'Mini Kashi' with 81 Shiva temples, Mandi braced for week-long celebrations as the Shivratri fair wore a festive look.
The devotees turned up in large numbers to pay obeisance to the chief deity of the Shivratri Fair Madho Rai and other god and goddesses.
Elaborate security arrangements were made avoid any untoward incident.
