The 21-year-old son of Rakhi Bhadra, the maid who was battered to death allegedly by BSP MP Dhananjay Singh's wife Jagriti, is too scared to come to Delhi even to perform her mother's last rites, said a senior police official here today.
Shehzan, who was traced to his home in West Bengal on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday after he went missing on Thursday night from outside Chanakyapuri police station here, is not ready to come back to the national capital and a police team, which is camping in West Bangal's North Parganas district, is making all efforts to convince him, he said.
"The team has roped in local police, some local NGOs and his neighbours to try and persuade him to come back to Delhi and take his mother's body home for the last rites," said the official.

Shehzan, whose father died several years ago, is married and has two kids. He had fled on Thursday night. Investigators tried calling him on the two mobile phone numbers provided by him but both were found switched off.
The family of Meena, the other maid who too was allegedly beaten by Jagriti and is currently being treated at R M L Hospital here, has been traced and efforts are being made to bring them to Delhi, police said.
Meanwhile, Jagrit's three-and-half-year-old son, who is currently living with Dhananjay's personal security officer, has refused to meet his mother, police said.
"He was approached after Jagriti requested to meet him but he refused," said a senior police official.
