An alleged bovine thief, who was critically injured by a mob in Kulgam district of south Kashmir on Wednesday, succumbed to his injuries today at a hospital here, police said.
Mohammad Jabbar Sheikh, a resident of Baalsu area of Kulgam, who was beaten by villagers of Kolpora accusing him of being a bovine thief, succumbed to his injuries this morning, a police spokesman said.
He said the villagers thrashed Sheikh and another person Ghulam Nabi after nabbing them on Wednesday.

When police reached the spot, both the persons had received injuries and were admitted to the hospital, where Sheikh succumbed, he said.
Police has registered a case, he said.
