Man arrested with over 1 kg of poppy in Samba district of J-K

A man has been arrested with over 1 kg of poppy in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir, the police said today.

During a checking at Balole bridge in Bari Brahamana belt last evening, a car was intercepted and 1.2 kg poppy was recovered from Sohan Lal, the driver, they said.

The accused, a resident of Hiranagar belt in Kathua district, was arrested from spot along with the contraband, the police said, adding a case has been registered and investigation is going on.
