Man awarded death sentence in rape and murder case

A Sessions Court here today awarded capital punishment to a person convicted in a case of kidnapping, rape and murder of a minor girl last year.

Mohammad Mustafa (45) kidnapped a 16-year-old girl and later raped and killed her on September 29 last year, prosecution said.

He disposed of her body at the Budhni Ghat near here which was recovered by the police.

Later police zeroed on Mustafa, a mechanic by profession, following leads and arrested him and filed a chargesheet.

The sentence was awarded by Seventh Additional Session Judge Saeeda Bano Rahman, under sections 363, 366, 201, 376 and 302 of the IPC.
