Man booked for trying to 'sexually assault' minor girl in

A 21-year-old man was booked for allegedly attempting to rape an eight-year-old girl in Shamirpet area near here, police said Thursday.

The accused lured the minor girl to his house by offering her chocolates on January 1 and tried to 'sexually assault' her.

When the girl raised an alarm, he fled the spot, they said.

A case under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was registered against the man and a hunt has been launched to nab him,they added.
