Man commits suicide by jumping in Yamuna river

A 57-year-old man, who had retired as a storekeeper from the Indian Navy, allegedly committed suicide by jumping in the Yamuna river from the DND flyover today, the police said.

Vinu Kumar Madan, left behind a suicide note in which he mentioned about being harassed since he was not able to repay a loan he had taken, they said.

Police said that the divers tried their best and pulled him out but he could not be saved.

He had retired from the Indian Navy as a storekeeper around nine years back.

Police have registered a case of abetment to suicide against the people whose names he had mentioned in his suicide note.
