Man dies, woman lives after couple attempts suicide in Rajasthan

A couple allegedly attempted suicide by hanging here on Friday, in which the man died and the woman survived, police said.

The woman survived the attempt as the noose around her neck loosed and came undone, they said.

The deceased was identified as Girdhari Ram Bheel, officials said.

The duo had ran away from their homes on Thursday, following which the family members of the woman lodged a missing complaint, SHO (Dhorimanna police station) Jabbar Singh said.

He said a case was registered and further investigation was underway.
