Man killed by wild elephant

A man was killed by two wild elephants this morning when he was attacked by the animals at Gokulpur village near Kharagpur in West Midnapore district.

The police said Ganesh Mudi (48) died on the spot when one of the tuskers picked him by its trunk and threw him on the ground.

The forest officials said that the elephants had strayed from their herd and were attacking people in the villages.
