Man sentenced to ten years RI for drug peddling

A court here today sentenced ten years rigorous imprisonment to a man in a three-year-old drug peddling case.

The court sentenced Pargat Singh to a ten year term and imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on him.

While in case of default of payment, Singh will have to further go for 2 years imprisonment.

A team of police during checking near Taddha Badha canal bridge on March 13, 2010 arrested Singh and recovered 6,400 tablets of habit forming drugs.

A case under various sections of NDPS Act was registered against Singh.
