Man shot dead, cash jewellery worth Rs 5 lakh looted in UP

A 34-year-old jeweller was shot dead today allegedly by some bike-borne youths, who then fled with jewellery and cash worth over Rs 5 lakh looted from his shop at Dataganj area here.

Sarvan was going to his shop when some unidentified bike-borne youths opened fire at him and fled with jewellery and cash, police said.

The victim was rushed to the hospital, where he died, they said, adding a probe is underway and no arrests have been made so far in this connection.
