A man and his elder sister died of burn injuries at Udang village in Howrah district, police said today.
According to police 22-year-old mentally retarded man set himself on fire at his house. His elder sister tried to safe him and suffered severe burn injuries.
Both of them died of burn injuries while the daughter of the elder sister, who was injured in the fire has been admitted to hospital, they added.
In another incident in the district, man killed his elderly father at Chandrapur village in an inebriated condition after he scolded him for coming home drunk, the police said.
A 11-year-old was killed in Amta area of the district when a truck hit her while she was cycling, the police added.
