The Mangalore Dasara celebrations at the famous Gokarnanatheshwara Temple at Kudroli near here started with the installation of Goddess Sharada in the temple premises today.
The idol of the goddess Sharada and Navadurgas were installed at the temple.
Mayor Mahabala Marla lighted the traditional lamp marking the inauguration of the celebrations.Installation of the Goddess Sarada was done by City entrepreneur Ramesh Kumar.
People from all walks of life throng the Kudroli temple during the Navarathri festival. Pilgrims from various other state also come to Kudroli to participate in the celebrations.
The festivities would conclude with a grand Shobhayatra on October 4 carrying the idols of Goddess Sharada, Mahaganapathi and the Navadurgas.
