A 34 year-old villager from the predominantly tribal Jawhar taluka strangulated his mother to death for delaying his dinner, the police said here today.
Police sub-inspector R R Patil of the Jawhar police station said that the accused Tulsiram Chandar Wad (34) who is absconding, came home at night and asked his mother Vansi Chandar Wad (55) for dinner last night.
The woman who was busy delayed serving him dinner due to which he got annoyed and strangulated her with her saree.
After his father complained, the police registered an offence under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code and launched a manhunt for the accused, the police said.
