Max temperatures hover around normal in Pb, Haryana

The maximum temperature today stayed close to normal level in the most parts of Punjab and Haryana even as humid conditions caused discomfort to people in many places in both states and the Union territory.

Chandigarh, the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana, recorded a maximum of 37.2 deg Celsius, the MeT Department report said here.

Hisar in Haryana recorded its maximum at 41.2 deg C, one degree above normal.

Among other places in Haryana, Ambala and Narnaul registered their maximum at 37.1 deg C and 39 deg C respectively.

In Punjab, Amritsar and Ludhiana recorded maximum of 37.2 deg C each while Patiala recorded its maximum at 38 deg C.
 

According to the MeT forecast, light to moderate rain is likely to occur at few places in Punjab and Haryana during the next 48 hours.
