Medium-intensity quake hits J&K region

A medium-intensity earthquake hit Jammu and Kashmir Sunday evening, but there were no reports of any loss of life or damage to the property, officials said.

An earthquake measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale occurred at 1806 hours, a Disaster Management Department's official said.

He said the epicentre of the quake in the state was at a depth of five km at latitude of 33.5 degree north and longitude of 75.2 degree east.

There are no reports of any damage to the life or property, he added.
