Medium sugar recovers marginally on mild demand

Medium sugar prices recovered marginally at the Vashi wholesale market here today on mild demand from stockist and bulk consumer amid restricted supplies.

Meanwhile, small sugar ended mixed on alternate bouts of buying and selling.

Medium sugar (S-30) moved up by Rs 3 per quintal to Rs 2,802/2,945 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 2,802/2,942.

However, small sugar (S-30) was quoted at Rs 2,706/2,856 as against Rs 2,702/2,862 previously.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,706/2,856 (Rs 2,702/2,862).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,802/2,945 (Rs 2,802/2,942.
