Meghalaya Sports Minister inaugurates Coaches clinic

Meghalaya Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Zenith M Sangma, today inaugurated a two-day Coaches clinic here.
The Coaches clinic is the state government's flagship mission football programme. At least 88 grassroots coaches are attending the clinic.
"Coaches clinic is one of the key components of the Mission Football. The clinic will help them in having enough patience while attending to the age groups 612 years age group," Zenith said while addressing at the programme.

He appealed to the coaches to know the mindset and psychology of the trainees to help them in inculcating a positive mindset and strong determination to overcome challenges and help them to move forward with dedication.
The 88 coaches shortlisted will be sensitised on the basics of training which will help them in training the young football enthusiasts at the clinic.
Sports and Youth Affairs Department director M W Nongbri said the objective of Coaches clinic is to ensure that players are not only groomed and trained to compete only in the state level competitions but also in the national and International arena.
She appealed to the coaches who were selected for the programme to take advantage of the clinic to bring out the best from the budding football players.
Earlier, East Khasi Hills District Junior Football Coach B L Nongbet gave a presentation on the "Grassroot Football in Meghalaya".
