Ruling PDP president Mehbooba Mufti today expressed anguish over the tragic death of a youth in the outskirts of the city allegedly insecurity forces action during clashes with protesters.
In a statement, Mehbooba condemned all acts and forms of violence perpetrated by any party that prevent or hinder efforts of bringing peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir.
GowharAhmad Dar, an engineering student, was hit by a tear smoke shell allegedly fired by police to disperse a stone-pelting mob near his Zainakote residence last evening.He succumbed to injuries at a hospital.

Mehbooba said while the Government has already ordered an official inquiry into the tragic death of the youth, the people who instigate the gullible boys to resort to violent actions must stop exacerbating the miseries of Kashmiris who have underwent the darkest era of death and destruction for the past more than two decades.
"Having suffered immensely over the years, the people in Jammu and Kashmir now want to live in peace and instigators and perpetrators of violence must read the writing on thewall," she said.
"Time has come for the people of the State to raise their voice against all forms of violence," she added.
Condemning the attacks on the people who attended the Prime Minister's rally here yesterday, Mehbooba said nobody has the right to resort to atrocious violent means against thepeople for following a certain political thought.
The PDP president, who is a Lok Sabha member, visited various hospitals in Srinagar today to enquire about the condition of the persons who were injured in senseless stone-pelting incidents in various parts of Kashmir while theywere on their way back after attending the Prime Minister's rally.
"Such an unruly behaviour is not acceptable in a civilized society and nobody has the right to browbeat and commit atrocities on the cadres of the political parties who attended the Prime Minister's rally," she said.
