Continuing its slide, mentha oil prices fell further by 1.25 per cent in futures trade Friday as speculators reduced their holdings amid low demand from industries at the spot market.

Moreover, ample stocks position on persistent supplies from growing regions too weighed on mentha oil prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in November month traded lower by Rs 22, or 1.25 per cent, to Rs 1,732.90 per kg, in a business turnover of 440 lots.

Marketmen attributed continuous fall in mentha oil prices at futures trade to reducing of holdings by participants, tracking subdued demand at the spot markets.
