Militant hideout busted in J-K; cache of arms recovered

Based on specific intelligence inputs, a joint column of 17 Rashtriya Rifles and state police launched a search operation in Tandar area of Dachan in the district yesterday and unearthed a militant hideout, defence spokesman, Col R K Palta said here.

During the operation, the security forces recovered one 12 bore rifle with two rounds of 12 bore ammunition, one muzzle loader rifle, one magazine of AK series weapons, 61 rounds of AK-47 series ammunition, one magazine of 9 mm pistol and one RPG round.

In addition, three Chinese grenades, two grenades of Austrian make, one grenade of UBGL, one radio set, a binocular and matrix sheet of Hizbul Muzahideen was also recovered in the raid, he said.
