A six-year-old girl was raped allegedly by her neighbour in Topsia area here following which she was admitted to a hospital in a serious condition.
22-year-old neighbour, Mohammed Imtiaz, lured the little girl to his residence and allegedly raped her last night, police said.
When the victim's family came to know about the incident, they admitted her to a government hospital, where the condition of the girl was stated to be serious.
Angry over the incident, locals caught Imtiaz and handed him over to the police, who arrested him.
Residents of Topsia today took out a rally to Alipore Court, in protest against the rising incidents of rape and molestation in the area.
