A woman leader of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena was attacked with iron rods near railway station here tonight, police said.
Sameeksha Markande (35), city unit president of MNS women wing, was hit on her head from behind allegedly by unidentified persons.
She was rushed to a private hospital where her condition is stated to be stable.

The motive behind the attack is not clear, police said.
Markande's husband is employed as a photographer with a Mumbai-based English tabloid.
