Modi greets former PM Singh on birthday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today greeted his predecessor Manmohan Singh on the former premier's 82nd birthday.

Modi who is in Frankfurt en route to the US in a message to Singh said, "Best wishes and warm greetings to Dr Manmohan Singh ji on his birthday. May he be blessed with a long life and good health".

Modi is scheduled to arrive in New York today on his maiden US visit as prime minister where he will address the UN General Assembly and meet President Barack Obama in Washington.
