A 29-year-old woman and her minor daughter were killed and another sustained burn injury allegedly after getting caught in a house fire in DLW area under Manduadih police station here today, said police.
The deceased have been identified as Karuna and her daughter Neha (9), police said.
The injured person has been rushed to a nearby hospital, said Farid Ahmad, Station Officer of Manduadih police station.

The incident took place today when a fire broke out in the kitchen of Karuna's house killing her and her daughter,
Karuna's husband, who is an employee of Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW), had gone out for work when this mishap occurred, police said.
Bodies of deceased persons have been sent for post-mortem, and further investigations are on, Ahmad said.

Chief fire officer P S Rahangdale said it was a 'Level
II' fire call, and the fire was confined to two small basement areas.
Situation was under control and no evacuation of patients was necessitated, he said.
