MT bags Paul Valappila Kerala Ratna award

Noted writer, film script-writer and journalist M T Vasudevan Nair has been selected for the second Paul Valappila Kerala Ratna award.

The award Judging Committee Chairman and Secretary of the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy Dr P V Krishnan Nair announced that the award would be presented to Nair on August 11.

The award had been established by the Paul Valappila Master Tust.

Valappila, a well-known social-worker and philanthropist, had shown ken interest in the rehabilitation of loitering leprosy patients in the city in the 1940 and 1950 which led to the establishment of Damien Institute for Leprosy Patient at nearby Mulayam, Nair said.
 

He was an activist of the Anti-Communist Front founded by the politician-cum priest Vadakan.
