About 7.5 kg of gold jewels worth Rs 1.5 crore has been reported missing from the hotel room of two-mumbai based merchants, police said today.
The two merchants had come to the city yesterday to supply ornaments to different jewellers and stayed at a hotel.
The merchants, who went out for dinner last night, found the bag containing the jewels missing from the drawer and lodged a complaint with police, they said.
Senior police officials, including city Commissioner A K Vishwanathan visited the hotel. Further investigations were on, police said.
