Murlidhar Tiwari appointed new VC of Barkatullah University

Noted academician Murlidhar Tiwari has taken over as the new Vice-Chancellor (VC) of city- based Barkatullah University.

Madhya Pradesh Governor Ram Naresh Yadav, in his capacity as Chancellor of State Universities, yesterday named Tiwari to the top post of one of India's prestigious varsities, official sources said.

A known name in academic circles, Tiwari, who took charge yesterday itself, earlier served as Director of Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Allahabad.

Tiwari, who succeeded Nisha Dubey, told reporters that developing the university according to the needs of Bhopal and Madhya Pradesh would be among his top priorities.
