Mushtaq Ahmad Siddiqi was today appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) Awantipora in Pulwama district.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, who is also the Chancellor of the varsity, appointed Siddiqi for a period of three years in place of A R Trag.
The appointment of Siddiqi was made on the recommendation of a panel comprising Advisor to CM Prof Amitabh Mattoo, Former Director ICGEB and Member UGC Dr V S Chauhan, Former VC University of Kashmir, Pondicherry University and B S Abdur Rehman University Prof Jalees Ahmad Khan Tareen and VC Jamia Hamdard Dr G N Qazi,an official spokesman said.
