Muslim United Front Chairman Habibur Rehman today asked the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to induct one Muslim into his Cabinet.

He said though Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inducted two Muslims into his cabinet, whereas Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu who projects himself as a "friend of the Muslims" had no Muslim leaders in his cabinet.

Rehman was addressing a gathering of Muslim youths here on the eve of Minority Day celebrations to mark the birth anniversary of India's first education minister Maulana Azad.

The MUF leader also demanded that the AP government must issue notifications for scholarships to Muslim students in educational institutions.

Alleging that though notifications were issued to backward caste, scheduled caste and scheduled tribe scholarships, he said Muslim students were neglected by the AP government.

Rehman also asked the state government to take initiatives to set up Central Research Institute of Unani Medicine in Andhra Pradesh and also two Unani medical colleges with the support of Union government.

He demanded the setting up a Unani medical college and a hospital in the city.

The Andhra Pradesh government must set up a Haj Committee, a Minority Commission and an Andhra Pradesh State Wakf Board, Rehman demanded.
