A newborn girl, who was abandoned by her parents at a private hospital here, died today.
Police said a women got admitted to a private hospital in Kausambi area of the district on Sunday and gave birth to a premature baby girl that night.
On Monday, the woman and her husband left the baby at the hospital and fled.
During investigation, police found that the address and the mobile number the couple had registered with the hospital authorities was incorrect.
The baby girl was shifted to the district hospital today, where she later died, a police officer said. Police are yet to register an FIR against the baby's parents.
