Tracking a firm global trend, nickel prices recovered by 0.55 per cent to Rs 1,119.60 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in June rose by Rs 6.10, or 0.55 per cent, to Rs 1,119.60 per kg in a business turnover of 865 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in May traded higher by Rs 5.90, or 0.53 per cent, to Rs 1,113.80 per kg in 12,435 lots.
Market analysts said fresh positions created by speculators in tandem with a firm global trend led to recovery in nickel prices at futures trade.
Nickel for delivery in three months added 1.9 per cent to USD 19,096 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
