Panun Kashmir, a Jammu-based outfit representing displaced Kashmiri Pandits, today said that the community itself will decide on the formula for a "separate homeland" in the Valley and no prescriptions would be accepted from any quarter.

"The mode of settlement in Kashmir will be decided by the displaced community and in this context no prescriptions will be accepted from any quarter," said Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, president of Panun Kashmir.

The Political Affairs Committee (PAC) of the outfit today met in Jammu to take stock of the political developments in the state, particularly with regard to return and rehabilitation of the community in Kashmir.

Chairman of the PAC, M L Raina, said there is an immediate need to check the radicalisation of Kashmiri Muslims in the Valley.

Chrungoo alleged the attempts are being made to challenge the more than 5000 year old ancestry of the Kashmiri Pandits by usurping and destroying the temples and shrines in the Valley under a sinister design.
