West Bengal Assembly today saw obituary reference being made by the Speaker for those who "died due to hardship caused by demonetisation".
Speaker Biman Banerjee after reading out accounts of the lives and work of eminent personalities said many people have died due to the "awkward situation" that has evolved due to demonetisation. The members stood in silence for two minutes.
The opposition parties at the Centre including Trinamool Congress have been stalling Parliament proceedings for 12 days now over demonetisation issue and their demands include a similar obituary reference in the Houses.
