One arrested with 2.5 kg of charas

One person was nabbed with 2.5 kg of charas during a checking here, police said today.

Senior Superintendent of Police Mahendra Sharma said during the ongoing checking drive, police intercepted a bike-borne youth, Shamin Ahmed, and recovered charas weighing 2.5 kg from his possession.

Ahmed was arrested from the spot and sent to jail, he said, adding the matter was being investigated.
