One killed, 7 injured as train engine hits bike, auto

One person was killed and seven others were injured when a train engine hit a motorbike and an autorickshaw at a level crossing here, police said.

The accident occurred at Simli level crossing when the motorcyclist and the autorickshaw were crossing the tracks, they said.

The motorcyclist was killed and the seven persons in the autorickshaw, including the driver were severely injured.

Irate local people set the train engine on fire and pelted stones at the Intercity train injuring the driver and policemen on duty.
