One person killed, five injured in accident

One person was killed and five others were injured when a passenger vehicle overturned and fell into a ditch at Bagnan in Howrah district today.

The accident occurred when the driver tried to save the vehicle from hitting a cyclist coming from the opposite direction, a police official said.

The injured were admitted to a Bagnan hospital from where one person was referred to a Kolkata hospital, he said.

The driver is absconding, he said.
