One person was killed and few others injured in a clash between two groups at Kanur village under Illambazar police station area of West Bengal's Birbhum district today.
One Seikh Rahim was hacked to death in the clash, which broke out at Kanur village, Birbhum district superintendent of police Alok Rajouria said.
While district BJP vice president Dilip Ghosh claimed that Rahim belonged to their party and was killed in a clash with the ruling TMC, TMC Illambazar block president Jaffarul Islam denied involvement of their party in the incident and described the clash as a "sequel" to some land dispute.
Police investigation is on.
