Outside vehicles to pay 'green tax' from tomorrow

Barriers have been erected at four places at Tara Devi, Totu, Mehli and Dhalli to collect the tax.

The entry tax would be charged at the rate of Rs 100 for two wheelers, Rs 200 per light motor vehicle, Rs 300 for utility vehicles and Rs 500 for trucks.

The contractor who has won the bid would pay Rs 6.01 crore to Shimla Municipal Corporation (SMC) in six instalments through post dated cheques, official sources said today.
