Over 8 lakh Aadhar cards issued in Chandigarh

As many as 8.61 lakh Aadhar cards have been issued in the union territory till July 31.

According to an official statement issued today, Rs 2.78 crore has been released to 44,918 beneficiaries under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Scheme in the city.

Aadhar-enabled service delivery is linked to various government schemes such as scholarship, pension scheme, Dhanalaxmi, Janani Suraksha Yojana, payment of social security benefits such as old-age payments and distribution of LPG subsidy among others.
