Over Rs 2 lakh paid for welfare of 52 child labourers

A penalty of Rs 2,12,788 has been collected from those who employed children as labourers in Krishna district and the same is paid towards rehabilitation of as many as 52 minors.

"We found 52 cases where children were employed as labourers in the district. These cases were detected by the National Child Labour Project and Labour Welfare Department," said National Child Labour Project Director D Anjaneya Reddy.

Reddy conducted an open court here today.
