Pak court gives death sentence and 112-yr jail term to convict

Riaz Ali, a resident of Mian Chanu in Khanewal district of Punjab, was convicted and sentenced by the anti-terrorism court in Multan yesterday.
The prosecution said a large quantity of explosives stored in Ali's house exploded on July 13, 2009.
As a result of the blast, 13 people were killed and 29 others injured. The explosion also destroyed about 35 nearby houses.
The court ordered Ali to pay a fine of Rs 1.5 million.
The court acquitted Ali's brother Imtiaz Ali and another accused, giving them the benefit of the doubt.
