Pakistan's trade gap falls by 10 pc to $13.18 bn in Jul-Feb

Pakistan's trade deficit has declined by ten per cent to USD 13.18 billion in the first eight months of the ongoing financial year.

In the same period (July-February) last year, the country's trade deficit stood at USD 14.66 billion, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics today said.

The financial year runs from July to June.

The Bureau of Statistics said exports rose to USD 15.88 billion from USD 15.12 billion and imports fell to USD 29.06 billion from USD 29.78 billion in the first eight months of the fiscal year.

On a monthly basis, the trade deficit fell to USD 1.54 billion in February from USD 1.74 billion the previous month.
 

Exports totalled USD 1.83 billion in February and imports were at USD 3. 38 billion.

The country's financial year runs from July to February.
