Jammu and Kashmir government has provided adequate power to sarpanchs and panchs to ensure better development at the grass root level, a state minister said at Aknoor.
"Sarpanchs and Panchs should perform their duties with utmost care and concern.
"The government has given them adequate powers to ensure better development at the grass root level," Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Sharma said while addressing a public meeting at Akhnoor, 30-kms from here, yesterday.

The developmental activities initiated by the government have changed the socio-economic profile of the people of the state, the minister said.
He also stressed the need to develop trust and maintain coordination among Panchayati Raj Institutions and administration for speedy development and proper implementation of projects.
